From 2013 to 2018 he was re elected as an MLA from Sathanur and then was assigned the role of Ministry of Energy
He was incharge of the Urban Development Ministry and also the Chairman of Karnataka State Town Planning Board.
He was the Minister berth (Minister of State for Prisons, Home guards) from 1991-1992.
He contested as an Independent candidate from Sathanur assembly constituency and was elected as MLA at an age of 27.
